Wehrmacht Fighting Knife – D1081

While exhibiting quite a bit of blade age from being stored in the scabbard, this fighting knife is in found condition and will work for a budget price example for some collector out there. Both oak grip plates are in good order, and  factory riveted to the spine of the blade. Though intact, there is a little play between the grip plates and the spine. The crossguard is in place with a little bit of play that is very typical of these edged weapons as well. A fantastic scabbard accompanies this knife, and about worth the price that we are asking for this complete edged weapon it by itself. The black period enamel is in wonderful condition and rates 95%. Functioning pressure spring clip hanger on the reverse is still nice, firm and in uniform un-sprung condition. As mentioned, the blade has plenty of age as shown. In spite of that it remains full length, void of any tipping, sharpening scars, or cutting edge chips. The Waffenamt eagle proof 6 is stamped on the obverse riccasso.    $375.00
