Vet Attributed M42 Single Decal Heer by ET – H186

One look at this helmet and you can tell it’s as “green” as they come. Though the exterior feldgrau paint has dulled and weathered, it still projects a nice untouched appearance in it’s entirety. On the left side of the shell is a nicely toned ET eagle transfer which has been applied uniform, centered, and straight. The decal has held up decent and remains at 90%. Moving to the inside of the shell, the left skirt has been stamped with the manufacture’s initials and size; ET66. At the back is the lot number 1575, placing this as a fairly early M42 production helmet. The steel liner band is uniform and follows the shape of the inside of the shell, void of any kinks, breakage, or misshaping. It is held by 3 untouched split pins along with their corresponding washers. While the leather has dried in this ole salty dog over the years, it still remains all intact and void of any rips, tears, missing fingers, or repairs. The original drawstring holds the ends of the fingers in place, as shown in the photo. This liner system is complete with it’s original full length chin strap. With this helmet is a small framed newspaper obituary remembrance clipping of the vet who brought this souvenir home with him after the war; Fred Christensen. Some additional information I’m sure can probably be researched on this soldier’s rank, outfit, etc, with not too much trouble. A nice untouched look to this ET66, single decal M42 Heer lid. SOLD
