Uncommon Early SA by Waffenhammer – D955

As collectors are well aware of, getting an SA dagger that has both rarity and condition is usually on opposite ends of the spectrum. Here is one that comes in as a 7 on the rarity scale, and has the gorgeous condition to go with it.

An excellent grip begins the description of this early Waffenhammer Storm Trooper’s M33 dagger. It is in beautiful condition throughout, with a medium brown color and subtle dark vertical stripes running on both sides. The wood remains in fantastic shape, and is void of any chips, splits, cracks, or repairs. In the center of the obverse a nickel high neck eagle has been set straight and flush to the wood. Above it and near the upper crossguard the same can be said of the SA runes button. The early button exhibits not only all of the brown enamel within the background, but also the gorgeous silvering to the border and runic letters as well. Both upper and lower crossguards have turned an even muted dull silver color, with an undisturbed patina which has settled over their surfaces. As nothing has been touched nor cleaned on this edged weapon for over ¾ of a century.

A fantastic scabbard accompanies this early SA. It remains straight, void of any hits, bends or creases. An absolute killer period brown anodized finish can be seen running down both sides, and to include a good portion of the factory protective lacquer still intact. Both upper and lower fittings exactly match the patina of the hardware on the hilt to a tee. 4 period dome head screws hold the hardware tight and in place. As a further testament of the beautiful condition of this scabbard, even the bottom ball on the lower fitting remains at near 100%. Something not all that often seen on these early political daggers shells.

We finish up the description of this SA with the blade, and what a blade it is! It remains full length, straight, void of any tipping, sharpening, or cutting-edge chips. The surface remains bright to include an excellent crossgrain running the length of both sides. A nice dark Alles fur Deutschland motto can be seen perfectly etched running straight down the obverse. Each and every letter beautifully burnished. On the reverse is the single oval trademark with the name of the edged weapon firm not all that often encountered with these early SA daggers; Waffenhammer out of Deggendorf.

Uncommon maker, killer condition, and untouched…. It doesn’t get any better!   SOLD
