TENO EM Hewer by Eickhorn – D1076

Like their RAD counterparts, these massive heavy TENO hewers are a totally impressive Bowie style edged weapon manufactured during the Nazi era. Though technically not intended for use in the field, many sometimes were that way as collectors very well know. This one wasn’t, and is truly a beauty that we have in this offering!

The celluloid grip plates on this Eickhorn TENO are in fantastic condition, being void of any splits, cracks, chips, scratches, or missing material. They project an even muted surface off white color on both obverse as well as reverse. And like everything else on this hewer, nothing has been cleaned nor polished on this beautiful edged weapon. Both halves are secure to the spine, and held solidly in place. The nickel over pot metal pommel shows a little lifting to the surface, which is quite typical to these hilt. Truthfully, it’s not all that detracting per se’. A fine looking outstretched eagle crossguard is shown on the obverse of this component, detailed in relief in only the way that the famous Eickhorn edged weapon firm was well noted for.

The scabbard to this hewer is one of the best that you will see to one of these TENO daggers, bar none. It is straight, void of any hits, dings, splits or dents. The period black enamel is absolutely outrageous, and rates 99.999%. A couple little spider lines tells the viewer that this is without a doubt the factory applied finish on this beautiful shell. To complement that, both upper and lower steel formed fittings are just as nice. With an undisturbed patina over their satin surface, these components are as about as well preserved as you are apt to encounter on one of these hewer scabbards. 4 flat head screws secure them firmly in place. Stamped on the lip of the throat is the accountability number 9944; the same digits that is lightly etched on the blade, and under the obverse of the crossguard.

As for the blade, it honestly just doesn’t get any better than what you are seeing here. Full length, straight, void of any tipping, sharpening, buffing, cleaning, or cutting edge chips, this blade is exactly what you want to see with one of these edged weapons. On top of that, a gorgeous matte finish can be observed running down the length of both obverse and reverse sides. In beautiful black contrast, the etched TENO organizational eagle with patent pending proof, as well as the Eickhorn squirrel logo, says everything about the quality of this beautiful drawn blade.

A wonderful looking TENO EM hewer, in every sense of the word.      $3495.00   REDUCED $3145.00
