Stormtrooper’s Dagger by Kober – D1024

These Suhl district produced SA dagger manufactures are always a hit with the collecting community. This listing is for an un-touch Kober example that is a beauty.

One look at this gorgeous grip, and I probably should stash this baby in my own collection. Though here it is up for grabs. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful the wood handles are on the SA’s that the Kober edged weapon firm used for their daggers. The wood in near perfect condition, being void of any chips, hits, splits, crack, pressure marks, or missing material. But that is just the half of it. Look at the outrageous light and dark grain running throughout this wonderful handle! Absolutely stunning! Both nickel silver emblems are totally dark with a rich grunge patina that has settle over their surfaces. If that isn’t good enough for you, check out the crossguards. Both are absolutely encrusted with 90 years of age, as if time just stopped on this untouched edged weapon 78 years ago when it was taken as a souvenir.

A fine looking scabbard accompanies this early Kober SA. It remains straight, void of any dings, splits, hits, or bends. Over the surface of both the obverse and reverse is very nice period brown anodizing. The oxidation that you see is actually on the protective lacquer. These Suhl manufactures did the best job of any SA firm when it comes to quality anodizing, compared to over 200 other companies producing these same edged weapons. Both upper and lower have the same grunge patina on them as the crossguards, and match them to a tee. 4 factory screws hold the fittings solid to the shell.

A beautiful blade finishes the description on this SA dagger. It remains full length, straight, void of any sharpening, buffing, tipping or cutting edge chips. There are a couple smudge marks imparted by the scabbard runners on the surface of this blade as shown in the photos. But honestly for such an untouched edged weapon they are not all that detracting. Besides, this blade probably sat in the scabbard for over half a century or more before anyone even pulled it. In lieu of that, a beautiful bright surface is shown on both sides, with a fantastic crossgrain running from hilt to tip. Nicely etched is the dark burnish the Alles fur Deutschland motto running straight down the center of the obverse. On the reverse is the half man- half horse logo of the Wilh. Kober edged weapon firm. My personal favorite trademark of all the companies who produced daggers during the infamous era.

A beautiful early nickel silver Kober SA dagger, untouched. Buffers need not apply 🙂     SOLD
