SS Police Bullion Runes – C270

Under Himmler’s orders, only full members within the SS could wear the SS runes insignia on their uniforms. In lieu of the fact that many soldiers were serving in units which did not utilize the runic collar tabs, an order came out in 1943 that created the breast version shown in this offering. It consists of a set of hand embroidered bullion runes sewn on feldgrau gray/green wool. In the photos you can see that the work is absolutely symmetrical, and done with fantastic precision. And of course over the proper cardboard unterlagen. The tight stitched bullion threads are void of any corrosion, powdering or excessive wear. The reverse shown with the typical period paper reinforcement protecting the stitching. About impossible to obtain SS hand embroidered bullion at this price anymore. As minty as they get.   SOLD
