SS General’s Collar Tab – C232

This offering is for an absolutely drop dead gorgeous SS General’s Oberfuhrer rank right hand collar tab. Constructed out of a black velvet base with tightly sewn thin 3 cord twisted piping, this tab was manufactured to be worn with a high ranking ceremonial white SS tunic. In the center of the obverse is shown stunning hand sewn bullion embroidery consisting of 2 oak leaves with 3 acorns at their stem bases. Each and every stitch of the bullion thread is sewn with beautiful uniform precision. The bullion is in perfect condition, void of any oxidation or powdering sometimes common with aluminum thread.  Period photos show the most trusted inter circle officer’s wearing the uniforms which bore these style of tabs at Hitler’s Wolf’s Lair retreat at Bertchtesgaden. The design purpose with the studs on the reverse was so that the insignia could be removed prior to cleaning these uniforms. Lastly, the reverse shows the 4 threaded studs, 3 washers, and 2 of the knurled nut fasteners.  A rare SS General’s tunic collar tab. SOLD
