Slant Grip Heer Dagger by SMF – D1110

Always popular with collectors are the so called “slant grip armies”. On top of that, the dagger in this offering was manufactured by a relatively scarce maker which was not all that much associated with Heer dagger production per se’, SMF

The Trolon grip as mention above is the “slant” profile, which 3rd Reich edged weapon enthusiasts so often seek for their collections. The handle is in excellent condition, void of any chips, splits, cracks, or missing material. You can seen in the photos, because of the drastic down angled right to left decorative grooves to this handle, collectors have coined the term slants. All 3 hardware components have taken on an attractive rich black patina over their surfaces. As nothing has been cleaned nor polished on this fine looking edged weapon.

The lighter weight scabbard to this SMF army dagger is typical of what we see this manufacture utilizing with many of their components when it comes to their limited production time in the Heer edged weapon line. The shell remains straight, void of any bends, splits, hits, or dog legs. As shown, the nickel plated surface does exhibit age and wear, common to this process at times. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the scabbard rings properly. 2 flush set screws secure the throat.

As for the blade, the description is short; Drop dead, Stone Mint!

A beautiful slant grip Heer dagger, which rates a 7 on the maker rarity list.   SOLD
