Awarded to those who dare to risk it all by attempting the dangerous challenge of attempting the destruction of a monster enemy tank on the field of battle, armed only with an explosive charge or hand held weapon. I can’t imagine the bravery mustered by a soldier to even consider such an action. Yet there was few that did. And in doing so were awarded these TDB badges like the one offered in this listing. This is an excellent example of one of those awards in this offering. The overall badge exhibits light wear, darkening, and age overall to the bullion mesh and magnetic Mark IV tank emblem. There are 2 small pin holes where possibly the veteran who brought this memento home displayed it tacked up in his den. That aside, the bullion is void of any powdering or major unsightly corrosion. As shown in the photos, the proper diagonal braided borders both top and bottom are exactly what you want to see with one of these very desirable period 3rd Reich awards. The magnetic metal stiffener is covered on the back by the factory adhered charco colored wool backing. SOLD
