Reinhmetal Borg Railroad Eagle – G193

Offering a highly desirable 3rd Reich Railroad eagle which was manufactured by the Reinhmetal-Borg foundry. These eagles are patterned after the 600cm series, in which about a dozen firms were involved in producing during the era. This example runs a little larger than most of those other firms, in that it measures just under 25″ inches in length. The eagle remains all uncleaned, with a nice muted aluminum finish on the obverse, and shown with a dark sooty reverse. There is a very tiny hole shown between the lower leg sections of the bird which appears to have been made to keep the plaque in place at one time. As this eagle still has it’s 3 original uncut threaded mounting studs, I’m thinking the little alteration was done during the period. But it’s hard to say. It’s nice to see all of the mounting studs intact on this railroad eagle. It’s been my experience that less than 25% of these are fund in this state. Lastly, the small double circle trademark of the Borg firm is shown on the reverse. It is directly over the chemical compound letters; GAl – MgSi.  A nice uncleaned 3rd Reich Railroad Eagle.     SOLD
