Rare SA Dagger by Weltersbach – D834

With any 3rd Reich edged weapon, it’s hard to get both rarity and condition all rolled together in one package. This is an excellent early Storm Trooper’s dagger in this offering, and rates a 9 on the rarity charts. Additionally, the beauty of it puts it over the top as well. Have a look.

It starts out with an beautiful darker brown handle in fine condition. The wood is in nice shape, void of any chips, major crack, or missing chunks. There is one minor very fine line imperfection at the top reverse, a couple light pressure marks, and that’s about it. The handle insignia consisting of the nickel silver eagle and SA runes button display very good,, and have been expertly set straight and uniform on the obverse of this grip. There is just a speck of surface age to both, though nothing all that detracting. As for the hardware, it has turned dark with age on all sides, as nothing has been cleaned nor polished on this edged weapon. Both upper and lower crossguards remain smooth, void of any scrapes or gouges.

As for the scabbard to this early SA, it’s in nice sound condition. It is straight, void of any bends, crease, dings or hits. The original period anodizing remains strong at 90%, with just the typical wear usually seen for an edged weapon that is 85 years old. Both the upper and lower fittings are secure to the shell, and held by the 4 period dome head screws.

We finish up with the blade, and it’s a beauty! A couple extremely minor specks of age hardly worth mentioning, is about it. A fine line crossgrain runs down the length of both sides, over a beautiful bright surface. The obverse is highlighted by a super dark Alles fur Deutschland, that absolutely couldn’t be any more gorgeous! On the reverse is the water pump logo trademark rarely encountered with these early political daggers. That of the Wilh Weltersbach edged weapon firm.

Quite a rare maker nickel silver SA, and with the condition to go with it………….that says it all!     SOLD
