Rare Mid Period M33 SS Dagger by RZM 121/38 – RC124

Though the maker of this transitional period SS dagger has never been identified, it has several characteristics which point to the renowned firm of Heinrich Boker as being the manufacture. Just looking at the overall quality of this edged weapon points to that in itself. Adding to that note, is the fact that this entire mid period SS dagger was constructed with all solid nickel fittings throughout, both dagger and scabbard. 

An absolutely stunning grip begins the description of this dagger from the onset. The high ridge profile handle is in perfect condition, void of even so much of anything that you could call a pressure mark. And talk about crossguard to handle fitment, sweet lord it doesn’t get any better than what you are seeing here! Both the nickel silver eagle and SS runes button are shown in excellent condition, caked with an undisturbed patina over their surfaces. How about those crossguard fittings? Talk about an untouched dagger! 

An excellent scabbard accompanies this beautiful model 33 SS dagger. The body remains in fine condition, displaying one superficial surface ding on the lower reverse. This shell is covered with a period factory black enamel coating which has held up fantastic for all these years, rating 98%. Both upper and lower solid nickel fittings have turned the same golden hue as the hilt components, perfectly matching the crossguards. This scabbard is equip with the vertical hanger that has been on it for years. How do I know that? Because I purchased this dagger years ago from long time edged weapon collector and friend from Ohio. I sold it to a collector from California who specialized in SS daggers. I believe he passed away, because the next time I saw it being offered it was on Lakesidetrader. From there it was sold back into the U.S. again, and now its come back home once again. And it has the same vertical hanger and D ring strap as it always has had on in. 🙂
