A fantastic grip and hilt assembly begins the description on this extremely beautiful edged weapon. The 13 segment grip is in near perfect condition, void of any chips, cracks, or missing wood. The muted flat black period dyed wood is just the best, including each and every rung both obverse and reverse. I absolutely love to see both police and SS officer degen grips wrapped with this aluminum wire, as this one has. It highlights the hilt and handle in the most striking contrast. All of the wire is tight in the grooves and firmly in place. An excellent copper police style eagle is perfectly centered and flush to the wood. The plating to the d guard, ferrules, and pommel nut has held up excellent, showing just some very minor lifting around the leather blade washer.

A sweet scabbard accompanies this sword. It remains straight, void of any creases, bends, splits, or hits. Additionally with period black enamel rating a solid 97%. Both upper and lower fittings are firm to the shell, and held by their proper factory screws.
