Personalized Japanese Officer’s Sword Belt – B139

These belt assemblies are not all that often encountered in the first place, especially in the condition of the one that is shown in this offering. This is an early sword belt rig for a WWII Japanese naval officer. The heavy gauge leather is in decent condition for it’s age, and remains fairly supple. Though I would perhaps recommend a light application of Ren wax or leather conditioner to keep and preserve it this way. Both keepers are included with this assembly, as well as the 2 reinforced inner straps which hold the hardware for a sword to be worn. The components of the strap consisting of 2 brass fasteners, a swivel clip, and 2 rivets, are present making this sword belt complete. The gilded brass round officer’s unique 2 piece buckle works fine, with it’s Imperial navy anchor device on the insert portion of the assembly. Finally, the leather uniform protector fob / keeper is marked with the officer’s rank and name, Lt. Kawamura. There is also the number “901” written on the fob. Perhaps the outfit or naval vessel that this officer served in or on? This is a rare as well as beautiful complete personalized naval sword rig, to display with your Japanese WWII collectibles. $295.00
