Always a favorite with 3rd Reich blade collectors, the grip to this WKC Kriegs is manufactured out of solid Trolon which has turned an attractive light orange on the obverse, and more yellowish on the reverse. The material is in fine condition, void of any cracks, splits, or missing chunks. Tightly wrapped around the circumference, the decorative double strand of brass wire which this edged weapon firm favored remains all in place and firmly set in the grooves. The entire hilt is perfectly tight and held in place by the snug forward-facing eagle pommel. One look at the toned reef tied knot tells the observer this portapee has been frozen in time for nearly a century, since the day it was laced on the hilt of this dagger.
