Personalized 2nd Model Luft Dagger by Alcoso – D1074
Looking for an untouched mint 2nd model. This is truly a sweet example in this offering to say the least!
A wonderful as well as attractive light pumpkin color Trolon grip begins the description of this Alcoso air force officer’s flying dolch. The material has held up fantastic over the years, displaying just very minimal age or wear, and void of any splits, crack, flakes, chips, or missing material. Tightly wrapped around the circumference the decorative springy wire is all in place, and has turned nearly black with the patina that has settle over it’s surface. Both the aluminum base material crossguard and pommel display beautiful hand tooling throughout, only to be accented by a rich dark burnishing in the recesses of each component. Most of the time these 2nd model Lufts were a challenge to personalized for their owners because of the pebbled surface on the reverse of the crossguards. Hence we don’t see it all that often. Though on this dagger 2 initials looked to be stamped on that component and read; M.H. A nice little addition to this fine looking Luft. Wrapped around the lower part of the grip and ferrule is a mint 23cm portapee in proper tie, the designation which was used for an Luft officer assigned and serving in a flying corps position. An absolutely gorgeous hilt assembly on this 2nd model dagger.
The scabbard to this edged weapon is exactly like the rest of the components to this 2nd model, untouched. It remains straight, void of any dings, hits, creases, bends, or splits. A totally rich black patina covers nearly both obverse and reverse surfaces, save for the shell being a little lighter where is has been covered by the crossguard for all these years. Take a look at those lighter aluminum scabbard bands and on how they contrast the dark steel sheath, while matching the hilt components to a tee. What a stunning affect! Finally, the throat is secured by the proper flat head small bore screws, typically used by the Alcoso edged weapon firm.
As for the blade; drop dead, stone mint!
This is a fantastic un-touched 2nd model, with the look! Comes with high recommendations for such a beautiful edged weapon . SOLD
