Partial SA Rohm Honor Dagger by Eickhorn – D1177
These Stormtrooper early SA daggers are quite desirable with any of the dedication remaining on the reverse of the blade. And especially after the Reichsfuhrer’s directive that the entire inscription as well as the Reichsleiter’s name to be totally ground for removal. Well, the one in this offering has not only the complete dedication on it, but a lot of the Rohm signature too!
The hilt description starts out with the typical Burlwood oak handles which Eickhorn favored on their early SA’s. The wood has survived in very good condition, being void of any chips, splits, flakes, repairs, or pressure marks. Both the high neck nickel silver eagle as well the SA runes button are in nice shape, and have been expertly set flush and straight into the obverse of this grip. No doubt about it, the hardware fittings are the in-house produced crossguards which are exhibited by the deep chased decorative grooves they display.
The scabbard to this Rohm Honor dagger remains straight, devoid of any splits, creases, dings, or hits. The factory brown chemical oxide finish though being aged over the years, is still present and has not been scrubbed nor touched up. Both un-cleaned upper and lower nickel fittings are tight to the shell and in place, while displaying an undisturbed patina over there surfaces. Which exactly matches that on the hardware on the hilt.
We finish up with the blade. While showing surface age of this virtually untouched edged weapon, it remains full length, straight, void of any polishing, buffing, tipping sharpening, or cutting-edge chips. You notice I didn’t say it was devoid of any grinding because that is what this blade is all about. While the owner tried to follow the order to remove the Rohm dedication and inscription, he found it just a bit challenging to say the least. As you can see, the entire In heartfelt Komradship dedication is intact, and a very legible Ernst Rohm signature too! The SA soldier even took as many precautions with his in-home handiwork to save the Eickhorn squirrel trademark as well.
This is an excellent partial Rohm to have if you’ve been awaiting one. Grab it! $2350.00
