Nickel Silver SA Dagger by Schmitz – D919

Although this edged weapon maker rates  in the middle of the pack coming in at a 6 on the rarity scale, I feel that it’s a manufacture that is all that commonly seen. As matter of fact, I’ve never come across this trademark ever in the past. A nice un-touched SA, all the way around.

The grip to this dagger is a nice thick chunk of wood, with a low more rounded contour ridge line. It is in beautiful condition, being void of any chips, flakes, or missing material. An excellent toned high neck nickel silver eagle has been expertly placed flush and centered to the obverse. The emblem is in fine condition, displaying wonderful relief and detailed features to the bird. At the top of the obverse the SA runic though showing some surface oxidation, still retains all of the light brown enamel surrounding the organization letters. Both crossguards are grungy as all get out, and exactly the look which some collectors love to see.

A fantastic scabbard accompanies this SA. The shell is perfectly straight, void of any hits, creases, bends, or splits. The brown anodizing has survived amazingly well, to include 90% of the lacquer over it’s surface. Like the crossguards, both upper and lower fittings are totally covered with patina and age, both fore and aft. 4 factory dome head screws hold the hardware solid to the shell. An excellent nickel silver snout nose hanger completes the assembly.

Lastly, the blade to this edged weapon is very good shape. It is full length, void of any tipping, sharpening, buffing or cutting edge chips. As you can see, there are a couple carbon oxidation specks near the tip on the obverse. Honestly, they are not that bad for such an un-touch dagger that the rest of this dagger exhibits. An excellent fine line crossgrain covers both sides of this blade, from crossguard to tip. While a beautiful dark Alles fur Deutschland motto is shown perfectly etched down the obverse. On the reverse ricasso is the set of drums trademark which this firm used for their business logo.

The perfect SA for the purest. Buffers need not apply   SOLD
