Minty Unissued Iron Cross 1st Class by K&Q – M449

Though this EK I is supposed to be pictured in Dietrich Maerz’s reference on Iron Cross’, I have not followed up to confirmed that fact. That aside, this is a wonderful opportunity to acquire an unissued Iron Cross 1st class with not only it’s original case, but matching cardboard stock container as well. As most collectors are aware of, the Klein & Quenzer awards firm was one of only 7 prestigious companies chosen to manufacture the coveted 3rd Reich Knight’s Crosses during the infamous era. Here is the description.

The cardboard sleeve as shown, exhibits some light wear and age overall. In spite of one small hole on the flap side, there doesn’t appear to be any major rips or tears. Just a few scuffs and wrinkles. The cover print describes it as containing a 1939 1st class award. Where as the side of the box label exhibits the firm’s name. The simulated black leather covered case with silver embossed Iron Cross symbol on the lid remains in excellent condition, displaying just light age from storage. The same goes for the off white flocking and satin interior fabric. Finally, as for the cross. Take a look at the photos and you can finish that description. It’s a honey!

Killer example of an unissued K&Q Iron Cross, complete with cardboard shipping protector. SOLD
