M42 SS Helmet by CKL – H189

This listing is for an excellent Model 42 SS helmet which was manufactured by Thale company after the factory switch over from using the ET code to CKL. The exterior feldgrau paint projects a muted appearance on all sides, with average wear consistent with use and being worn. A toned ET style SS decal is shown on the right side of the lid, placed straight and not canted like many that we see. On the inside revere skirt, the steel is stamped ckl 64, with a lot number of 3164. As for the leather it remains supple throughout, as it looks like a light application of preservative has been applied to it at one time. All of the fingers are present, and held by the original draw string. The liner band is uniform throughout, an held secure by 3 matching straight split pins, and their corresponding washer. A full length chinstrap completes the interior. The leather is soft with a preservative as well. An excellent straight forward M42 SS helmet. SOLD
