M35 Luft Helmet by Quist – H201

This listing is for Q68, double decal M35 Luft helmet. The exterior of this shell shows wear, use, scratches, and darkening from the time that it was worn during the period. Still the paint has held up decent for the most part. On the right side of the lid the national transfer has been applied straight and uniform to the vent hole, while rating very strong at 90%. On the opposite side the eagle in flight decal is in acceptable condition, considering the Q transfers usually show quite a bit of fading on their Luft helmets. As shown the paint and decal exhibit some surface scratches in this area. In light of that, the eagle is still acceptable at 85%. The interior skirt of the helmet is stamped with this firm’s initial, size, and lot number: Q68, #20726. As for the 61 stamped liner, the leather is in very nice condition overall, void of any rips, tears, or major wear areas. All nine fingers are intact, and held properly the drawstring. The reinforced aluminum liner is straight and uniform throughout, and held secure with 3 untouched split pins with their corresponding washers. There is a post war chinstrap which came with this helmet and we have left it on for display purposes. A solid large size M35 Luft, for the money.      SOLD
