M35 Double Decal Police Helmet NS64 – H172

Offering an excellent Model 35 double decal police helmet manufactured by Nickelwerke. The darker feldgrau exterior paint which is a common characteristic of this particular manufacture is in very nice condition, and certainly rating 95%. All 3 rivet heads are tight to the shell and display excellent matching paint which has held up quite nicely. The NS eagle transfer on the left side has been applied about as straight as they get, though it does shows some abrasions. In light of that it remains strong at 85%. On the opposite side of the shell once again the swastika shield has been placed near perfectly uniform, and rates 95%. On the inside skirt of the shell is stamped N.S.64, with a lot # D.161. Though not shown in the photos, the shell is inked with a nice dome stamp. This helmet displays the proper reinforced aluminum liner of which the band is held tight by 3 perfectly straight rivets, and their corresponding washers.  Continuing, the leather remains supple showing basically edge wear in the areas where it wrapped and riveted. All 8 liner fingers are intact, and remain without any tears. Looks like the original draw string is laced through the finger eyelets as well. Finally, an early aluminum buckle full length chinstrap which is dated 1938 completes this lid. A nice solid example of this early double decal M35 Police helmet. SOLD
