M24 WWII German Stick Grenade – G210

Offering a very nice example of a period stick grenade manufactured by the Richard Rinker firm, who was the first to produce the explosive component  supplied and used by many of the 27 other munitions and arms companies. The can which has been internally cut to remove the explosive is marked on the side with 8.40, indicating that this grenade was manufactured in August of 1940. Additionally has a large K which stood for Kalt, and indicated that this explosive would work under cold arctic conditions. The top of the can is dated 1940 and the number 336. This was the code that indicated it was a product of the Rinker firm. Additionally the top is stenciled with the white Waffenamt inspectors stamp 65, also for this company as well. As shown, the can to this M24 displays excellent period paint, rating 90% overall. The hollowed stick portion displays a natural wood appearance, which has dried over the years. I don’t see any manufacturing marks, as several of these components were only lightly stamped have eroded over the years. It definitely is a period stick, and even shows the pressure mark evidence of metal hold down case which these explosives were housed in, additionally the unfinished wood grain typical of these handles. The end cap is equip with the spring tensioner, and as a nice bonus the ceramic ball and string are present as well. A nice original M24, Nazi era stick grenade.  SOLD
