M24 WWII German Grenade by Domininghaus – G258
When these “potato mashers” were disarmed after the war, usually the canister was tossed into one pile while the handles in another. Consequently, rarely do you all that often encounter an M24 with matched components. Well, here is your chance in this listing. This one is matched with the manufacture’s initials and date dol 43, on both the canister as well as the stick. Additionally, the canister, though a little scuffed, still retains wonderful original factory paint and is also lightly stamped with a “K” as for cold weather application. Both the rain cap as well as the end threaded ring for the safetly cap are the pressed-on variety. As such these will almost always have a little play to them as this one does because of the shrinkage of wood over the last 90 years. Though the string and pull cord are gone to time the Brennzünder friction igniter is still in place. A much harder component to locate for these displays that’s for sure. Finally, the lower cover plate on the lid has not been cut open like most of the canisters we see today. A very nice, matched example with desirable components. $850.00
