Luftwaffe Forestry Bayonet by Waffen-Loesche – D561

Offering a very good example of these popular edged weapon, is this Luftwaffe Forestry bayonet. At first glance you might say to yourself, are these guys out of their mind listing such a rusty old dog like this? Ah, but look further, friend. Yes, the scabbard to this edged weapon is spotted with rust and missing have of it’s black enamel paint. But man what a job it did protecting that stunning blade! That’s right, the blade to this little bayo is nothing short of drop dead, stone mint gorgeous mint! It is full length, solid in the hilt, void of any sharpening, tipping, marks, scars or anything detracting what so ever. On top of that, it has the most fantastic beautiful crossgrain on both sides that is a sight to behold. As these were distributor sold, one side of the riccasso is stamped WAFFEN – LOESCHE / BERLIN. The spine of the blade has the customary “H” letter associated with the majority of these Luft – Forestry bayonets. And the reverse is stamped Ch A.W.  It is believed that these special bayonets were the product of the Anton Wingen edged weapon firm, hence the AW initials. Completing this bayonet are the thick slabs of stag horn, perfectly shaped and fitted to the spine of this hilt. All 3 untouched spanner connected screws hold the plates firm and solid. The scabbard shell is aged as we can see, but the best part of this edged weapon survived in beautiful condition. A bargain price for one of these neat and collectible Waffen Loesche Luftwaffe Forestry bayonets.  SOLD
