Luftwaffe Fighting Knife – D662

This Luft fighting knife while in used condition still projects a decent representation of these edged weapons. The oak grip plates are nicely trimmed and fit properly to the spine of the hilt. They are in good condition, being void of any missing wood. A small carved initial “H” is shown at the butt end of the obverse side. While the scabbard shows plenty of surface age and oxidation, it still retains a fair amount of the factory black enamel paint that it was issued with. And also has a functioning 2 piece reverse hold down clip. As for the blade, it is full length, void of any chips or pits, with light sharpening. In light of that it still retains a nice crossgrain running down both side. As most of the time usual for these edged weapons, the obverse riccasso is stamped with an eagle Waffenampt with the number 5 comprising it’s body.  SOLD
