Luftwaffe Fighting Knife – D1155

This is a good example of the so called “Luftwaffe fighting knife”, though no doubt issued to other Wehrmacht soldiers as well. Both halves of the oak grip plates are in good shape, being void of any splits or missing wood. Additionally, they remain tightly riveted to the spine of this blade. The scabbard too is exceptional to this fighting knife, displaying nearly 100% of the period factory black enamel paint. On the reverse side though intact, the pressure spring legs have been bent outward as a result of the knife clipped on to most likely some sort of thicker combat gear. Finally, the Waffenamt blade is a beauty. It remains full length, void of any sharpening scars, tipping, buffing, or unsightly damage. $595.00
