K98 Bayonet by Eickhorn – D1017

This listing is for a wartime matched bayonet & scabbard which was produced by the Carl Eickhorn firm. Both grip  plates are in good condition, tight to the spine, firmly in place, and void of any breaks or damage. Though the scabbard displays wear and age to the original factory bluing, it hasn’t been touched up. At the throat area it has been stamped #9740, exactly the same as the obverse riccasso of the blade. An excellent frog is shown with this scabbard, and appears original to this edged weapon. All of the sewing and reinforcing rivets are intact, with the leather lightly maker stamped at the upper section. Finally the blade remains full length, exhibiting typical surface wear, age, and edge sharpening, of a bayonet worn and used by a Wehrmacht soldier. The reverse riccasso is stamped with the date and Eickhorn Waffen code; 42, cof.   SOLD
