Jaeger Horn – G196
These 3rd Reich Hunting Association horns were used to gather and assembly the boys for the hunt, and also to let them know the feast and the party has begun. It is made out of brass and silver construction, with the typical green leather wrap in a ornate conical snail like pattern. The leather shows light wear and age, but is still firmly wrapped and tight to the metal. Try as I may, I can barely get a single note out of these little instruments. It must have taken a guy with one hell of a of pucker power to sound one of these babies off ! On the front of the silver bell is shown the DJ stag skull with flowing upward antlers. In the center of the starburst there once was a swastika symbol. You can still make it out, but somewhere along the line a zealot defaced it to a degree. Usually sold for $1000 or more, this one is being offered at $550.00
