Iron Cross 1st Class by Zimmermann – M486

Offering a beautiful cased EK I which was produced by the C.F. Zimmermann awards firm. The medal itself has an excellent frosted ribbed bead outline, surrounding a fine inner baked black iron core. Additionally, the obverse is finished off by an absolutely fantastic gorgeous high gloss polished outer rim. The reverse of the cross is just as impressive, displaying a bright matte silver surface finish. The hardware consisting of the hinge, pin, and catch is nicely intact, void of any repairs. Though not shown, the underside of the pin is stamped with the Zimmermann LDO # 20. With this Iron Cross comes the original box that it was housed in. The simulated black leather embossed with the outline of a silver cross is in good shape. Where as the interior flocking shows some age. A nice set overall, with a beautiful EKI leading the way.   SOLD
