Heer Officer’s Dagger by Pack – D1120

In this offering is an above average 3rd Reich army officer’s dagger in decent condition overall. The lighter orange Trolon grip appears to be in good shape, void of any unsightly chips, splits, cracks, or missing material. Additionally comprising this hilt are the lighter alloy crossguard and pommel we occasionally see with this manufacture. Both of those components still display fine detail to the features of each. The hardware remains dark and toned, as nothing has been cleaned on this dagger since being returned as a souvenir from WWII.

An excellent scabbard accompanies this E. Pack officer’s dagger. The shell is straight, void of any bends, hits, dings, dents, or creases. As shown it has turned almost totally black, with a rich patina covering it’s entire surface. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 dome head screws secure the throat.

We finish up with actually a fine blade to this dagger. It is straight, full length, void of any tipping, buffing, or sharpening. There is one very small nail catcher tick to the cutting edge, which is located 3” from the tip. It really doesn’t detract all that much in my opinion. The factory polished surface exhibits some light age over the last 90 years of storage. Though we’ve all certainly seen much worse on many daggers which came out of the 3rd Reich era. On the reverse of the blade is large etched Siegfried wood chopper logo. That being the trademark of the Ernst Pack edged weapon firm.

Basically a good solid Heer dagger, and perhaps something for an entry level collector in this fascinating hobby.  $565.00
