Heer Officer’s Dagger by Horster – D828

This is an early 3rd Reich Army officer dagger, in excellent condition. A beautiful pumpkin color grip starts this edged weapon out in fine order. With a striking attractive hue to which this handle has turned, this grip is void of any chips, splits, cracks, or missing Trolon material. Both crossguard and pommel are dark with age, as nothing has been cleaned on this edged weapon since being returned as a souvenir from WWII. And speaking of the pommel, it is the 14 leaf pattern, indicative of this Heer dagger being produced during the initial period of when these edged weapon first made their appearance during early 1935. Wrapped around the crossguard and upper section of the handle, is the knot that has been on this dagger forever. It’s in fine condition, and actually a $120.00 bonus to this edged weapon. The scabbard to this dagger like the hilt fittings, has turned dark with an undisturbed patina over it’s entire surface. The shell remains perfectly straight, void of any hits, creases, or bends. There is even the evidence of the factory silver frosting in the throat area that this scabbard must have had, when sold so many years ago. Finally the blade. It’s truly about as mint as they come. What a beauty!  An excellent early Army officer’s dagger by Horster.    SOLD
