Heer Officer’s Dagger by Holler – D1003

Offering an absolutely beautiful toned 3rd Reich army officer’s dagger in this listing. As shown, the dark red grip is stunning draw on this edged weapon. The Trolon material has turned very dark on the obverse, and just a shade lighter on the reverse. Quite typical, the unstable material in these army dagger handles changed colors in what is believed to have been within a short timeframe after being manufactured during the period. In any event, it is absolutely gorgeous to say the least! Though the knot has been on there forever and covering areas of this grip, there doesn’t appear to be any damage to any of the areas. The 14 leaf pommel as well as the crossguard have turned dark as all get out, as nothing has been cleaned nor disturbed on this dagger since being returned from WWII as a souvenir. As you can see, the portapee shows it’s age and wear, though perfectly complements this fantastic looking early Heer dolch.

As with the hilt fittings, the scabbard to this dagger is nearly black. The combination of silver plating over brass construction no doubt has imparted the rich look to this shell. This scabbard remains perfectly straight, void of any hits, splits, bumps, dings, or creases. Both scabbard bands are tight to the shell and hold the hanger rings properly. One reverse screw secures the throat.

As for the blade…………..MINT !!!

What an absolutely sweet army dagger, in every sense of the word  SOLD
