Heer Officer with Aluminum Fittings by Pack – D653

Aluminum fittings on 3rd Reich army officer’s dagger are not all that commonly encountered. Where once these edged weapon were not all that popular with collectors, they are certainly quite sought after in today’s market. Here is a wonderful un-touch E. Pack in this offering.

The light orange Torlon grip to this dagger is in fine condition. Though the original portapee is wrapped around it in a period tie, I don’t see any cracks, splits, or missing material from the handle. The encrusted dirt in the decorative grip lines give this handle a rather neat look. As mentioned, a period knot is laced on this hilt. Though it has seen some better days no doubt years ago, it is still intact and structurally sound. Mentioned in the title was the fact that this dagger is equip with an aluminum crossguard and pommel. Like everything else on this army, both of these components are encrusted and almost black with a patina which has developed over their surfaces. A beauty of a grip and hilt assembly, with rare aluminum fittings.

The scabbard to this dagger is a black as the hilt components. In lieu of that, it remains straight as an arrow, void of any hits, bumps, splits, dings, or anything else. Both of the signature E. Pack scabbard bands are soundly in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 dome head un-touched screws secure the throat. An all black and beautiful shell to this Heer officer’s dolch.

As for the blade, it truly is exceptionally nice. Full length, void of any tipping, or sharpening, it has a beautiful luster running down both obverse and reverse. There is a couple micro, and I mean small, cutting edge imperfections near the tip. They are so small, my camera can pick them up in the photo. With that noted, this is one hell of a beautiful blade! On the reverse is the larger 2nd trademark used by the E.Pack firm which states; Siegfried Waffen. A stunning blade, I kid you not.

A killer look to this E. Pack Heer dagger, with rare aluminum fittings.  SOLD
