Heer Honor Roll Clasp by Klein – M519

For recipients who further distinguished themselves on the field of battle with heroic acts of valor, and furthermore had already received the Iron Cross’ both 1 & 2, the institution of the Honor Roll Clasp was introduced in January of 1944. The gold plated medal stamped swastika circled by a wreath of oak leaves on this particular example is absolutely gorgeous! This is the more robust and heavier emblem in comparison to those produced by a couple other manufactures during the era, and truly the desirability of these Klein awards. The emblem is pinned through the 11” full length strip of orange ribbon which this prestigious award was assembled with. It was estimated that approximately 4500 of these Heer Honor Roll Clasps were awarded to Army and SS troops during WWII.
