Glass Grip Army Officer’s Dagger by E. Pack – D1243

In this listing is a desirable fairly early manufactured Heer officer’s dagger by the Ernst Pack edged weapon firm. As the title suggests, it is equipped with a high polished resin handle which collectors’ term as having a “glass grip”. The handle is in a decent shape overall, displaying a few small surface imperfections which would easily be covered by a portapee. This is very typical of this grip material as most collectors are aware of. The fittings are of a lightweight composite aluminum construction. As an early production piece, the pommel is of the 14-leaf variety.

A decent scabbard accompanies this early Pack Heer dagger. The shell remains fairly straight it appears, and void of any major hits, dings, splits, or bends. The surface is black as all get out, perfectly matching the hardware shown on the hilt. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 domed head screws secure the throat.

A nice blade completes the description of this early tapered tang blade. In lieu of a couple small surface imperfections, this blade remains full-length, straight, drawn to a needle point tip, while being void of any sharpening, tipping or cutting-edge chips. This is probably one of the earliest blades produced by Pack using their Siegfried logo, while still utilizing the tapered tang construction configuration.

A nice glass grip Pack, with desirable early components.  $875.00
