Fantastic Railroad Eagle by Pinter – G244
If there was ever a 3rd Reich rail eagle with the look, here it is! This Wagen 600mm ( 24 ¾”) example exhibits one of the most attractive untouched patinas that I have ever observed on one of these desirable and sought after displays. As you can see it has a rich black appearance that is covered in coal dust and soot, from wing tip to wing tip. On the reverse all 3 mounting studs have been sheered off which it very typical. This was the easiest method for the G.I. to obtain one of these trophies representing his time and service during WWII. And what better example of that than this killer looking railroad eagle. Finally, as part of the casting on the reverse is the foundry initials PS, the size 600mm, and the chemical compound comprising the composition of which these plaques were molded from, cast Aluminum, Magnesium, & Silicon.
