Exclamation Motto SS Dagger by RZM 729 – RC131

There has been a debate as to whether the edged weapon firm of Jacobs, or that of Klittermann & Moog, produced these SS daggers which have the exclamation ( ! ) point after the Meine Ehre heist Treue motto. We do have an article on our site in the blog section which addresses this topic which you might find interesting. In any event, these transitional produced daggers are very collectible among the collecting community.

This desirable SS dagger has a wonderful grip to begin the description. The wood has been preserved in excellent condition, void of any chips, major detracting splits, cracks, missing chunks, or repairs. Both the nickel silver eagle as well as the SS runes button are in good shape, though exhibiting some surface wear to each. Both upper and lower nickel crossguards have taken on a dull muted patina, as nothing has been cleaned or polished on this edged weapon.

The scabbard to this dagger is in good condition. The shell is straight, void of any bends, hits, dings, creases or splits. As a mid-period edged weapon, it is period painted with a black enamel, as opposed to being chemically blued as the introduction scabbards initially were. That process has held up good on this sheath, displaying the typical spidering which collectors are used to seeing. As a transition edged weapon, this scabbard is equipped with plated fittings which have the same patina and color as the hilt components. Oh, I know some of you guys will stomp your feet and roll on the floor over this fact, but that is the way that it is transitioning from nickel, to nickel plated during the 1935-38 years.

And finally, the blade. It remains full length, straight, void of any sharpening, buffing, tipping, or cutting-edge chips. There definitely are some surface scaring, though for such an uncommon motto etch, it’s not all that horrible. That aside, look how nice the burnishing is to the etch of the Meine Ehre heist Treue motto! And after all, that is exactly what these desirable 7/29’s are all about.

These exclamation motto SS daggers are not offered all that often. Here is a solid example. SOLD
