Excellent Untouched Japanese Helmet – H214

As the title states, this is an absolutely fantastic example of a Type 90 Japanese helmet in this offering. The exterior muted factory brown paint, that as you can see is oxidized on the surface, as noting has been cleaned nor polished on this souvenir since the end of hostilities after WWII. All of the rivets holding both the liner and chinstrap are tight and firm to the shell. As for the star on the front of the helmet, it’s not moved a fraction since the day being factory installed on this untouched Type 90 IJA helmet. There were many Japanese fishing manufactures who produced a variety of camouflage nets to be utilized by soldiers over their helmets during war time production. The worn and faded  one on this lid is emerald green in color, in which some of the dye has dissipated revealing the underlying blue base fabric underneath.  Though stiff, the complete 3 pad leather liner is in excellent condition, with the drawstring intact. The chin strap appears to have been period shortened, with one strand showing age and fraying. Lastly, the size has been painted on the back skirt, where the front has the 4 character name of the owner of this helmet. A beautiful untouched example, that I honestly should stash for myself.
