Excellent Hitler Youth Knife – D844

Literally used hard and put away wet, HJ knives in the hands of the youths who owned them saw more actual utility use than any other edged weapon produced during the 3rd Reich era. So finding one of these knives in nice collectible condition is certainly a challenge for collectors. If you’ve been looking for one, look no further. As the condition of the example in this offering rates right up there.

For a later produced HJ, the plating to the hilt of this knife is in wonderful condition. With the exception of where the hold down snap rides, the plating is about as nice as your apt to see. Likewise, both grip plates are in perfect shape, tightly riveted to the spine, and trimmed fit to precision. A beautiful little HJ diamond is in fantastic shape, void of any damage or hits completes this hilt.

An excellent scabbard accompanies this HJ, and is in good order. The shell remains straight, void of any hits, creases or splits. As a knife no doubt cherished by it’s owner, the condition of the factory black paint still remains at 90%. The leather hanger is supple and properly riveted to the shell, with functioning hold down strap and snap.

Lastly the blade, and it’s a beauty! Straight, full length, void of any sharpening, pitting, tipping or cutting edge chips, it’s about as nice as they get. A little bit of in and out surface wear, and that basically is it. Even the leather washer that protected this beautiful blade is practically new in appearance. On the reverse is the contract number RZM 7/40, that of the Hartkopf edged weapon firm. The company that produced this quality HJ, even during the war conditions of the year 1940.

A sweet little youth knife, in every sense of the word. SOLD
