Eickhorn Ground Rohm Honor Dagger – D875

The grip to this Storm Trooper’s dagger is a beautiful burl wood, displaying fantastic contrast of light and dark grain running throughout. It is in excellent condition, void of any chips or missing material. The typical hour glass shape of this handle is instantly recognizable to may seasoned collectors who are familiar with Eickhorn SA’s. An excellent high neck nickel eagle has been expertly sent flush in the center of the obverse. It virtually is in near perfect condition, void of any surface wear. Above it and just below the top crossguard the SA runes button has a little bit of surface wear, though no chips to the enamel, and very pronounced silvering to the SA letters. The deeply chased and hand file crossguard features are also a trait of this edged weapon firm. The hardware is fairly smooth, and project a muted undisturbed patina with a faint HO on the reverse top right.

The scabbard to this dagger is pretty decent overall. It remains straight, void of any major dents, splits, bends or twists. The anodized finish has oxidized and left the shell a bit rough to the touch but again no structural damage. Attached is an early nickel hanger which is just a bonus to add to the overall look and feel of this dagger. Finally, both nickel fittings are in very good condition, and held securely to the shell with 4 factory dome head screws. The lower ball is also in great condition matching the untouched look.

No two ways about it, the blade shows a little age, spotting and wear. The good thing is the rest of this blade is a beauty, full length, no chips, nicks, and drawn to a needle-sharp point. The surface has not been buffed, as the Alles fur Deutschland motto still has a light gray burnishing to the etch. This was a factory ground blade and so as a result, none of the Rohm dedication is present. Though the small double oval squirrel trademark is still intact and escaped the grinding wheel.

Really not all that bad of 3rd Reich era edged weapon, for a complete early nickel silver SA ground Rohm honor dagger.   SOLD
