Early Stormtrooper’s Dagger by Wingen – D839

Although the SA’s manufactured by the Anton Wingen edged weapon firm are rated fairly common on the rarity list, the true quality of these daggers is at the other end of the spectrum. As this company put out a blade that will rival any of the best 3rd Reich era companies to have ever manufactured these early political daggers. And this one is no different. Have a look.

The thinner profile grip to this dagger is in good condition, void of any chips splits, or fractures. As shown, the wood is a course grain oak in it’s natural color, appearing lighter in hue than a lot of other manufactures. The nickel silver eagle has toned totally dark with patina, like every other component of this edged weapon. As nothing has been touched nor cleaned on this dagger for over ¾ of a century. At the top of the obverse the SA runes button is in good shape. Though the silver highlights have also darkened, the brown enamel inlay is in perfect condition. Both upper and lower crossguards as well as the pommel nut have a heavy oxidation on their surface. Giving this entire hilt a look which some collectors thrive to find with daggers that they seek for their collections.

An excellent scabbard accompanies this early SA. It remains straight, void of any bends, creases or dings. A fantastic dark brown period anodizing is shown covering both obverse and reverse, and rates 98%. Though crazed over time, the factory protective lacquer is nearly all intact as well! As most collectors are aware of, this is something rarely seen on these early M33 shells. The only real oxidation wear to this scabbard is on the side edges of the lower section, leading into the chape fitting. Finally, the upper as well as lower fittings are secure to the shell, and held tight with the 4 proper dome head screws. As with the hilt fittings, the surface of both components are encrusted with oxidation.

We wrap up with the blade. Take one look at it and write your own description. As it truly is one sweet shiv! What a screamer!

An excellent untouched early Model 33 Stormtrooper’s dagger, strictly for the purest.   $1395.00
