Early Stormtrooper’s Dagger by Henckels – D1188
Here is a budget priced early nickel silver SA which is all complete, exhibiting some condition challenges, though remaining all untouched. The grip is in good shape, with just a couple superficial flakes on one hairliner on the lower obverse. Both the SA runes button and the grip eagle show decently, with average light surface wear. The solid nickel crossguards are smooth to the touch and nicely fit the grip in proper fashion. As for the pommel nut, it has some roughness to the edges which are most likely do to someone using a pair of pliers to loosen it at some time in the past.
The scabbard to this Henckels SA as you can see, has endured surface oxidation as well as some misshaping. In lieu of that, it is void of any splits, bends, or repainting. Both the upper and lower nickel fittings are firmly set in place and held with the factory screws.
In spite of the cutting edge showing some slight imperfections, this blade is not all that bad. It remains straight, full length, void of any tipping, buffing, polishing or sharpening. While the surface has some runner marks it still displays the factory crossgrain, as well as a light gray Alles fur Deutschland motto perfectly etched down the center of the obverse. And finally shown is the renown dancing twins logo of a company still in business today, that of the Henckels edged weapon firm.
A solid early maker marked nickel silver SA dagger, for perhaps a new collector or one looking for a budget priced example. $775.00
