Early SA Dagger by Pack – D857

There is something to be said about the attraction to an untouched uncleaned relic that some collectors just love. For those in that purest group, here is one such dagger in this listing.

One look at this SA tells the viewer everything they need to know about this edged weapon, and it begins at the hilt of this early Storm Trooper’s dagger. The course grain wood grip to this E. Pack is in very good condition. It is laden in light and dark colors ranging from reds to browns. As shown in the photos, the wood is void of any cracks, splits, flakes, or missing chips. Typical for this edged weapon firm, a high neck nickel eagle has been utilized and shown expertly set flush into the obverse. At the top of the grip the SA runic is in good shape. Though displaying some surface wear, the silver highlights and enamel are intact. And you want to talk about untouched? Take a look at the fittings on this hilt. Though thoroughly encrusted with nearly 90 years of grime, they remain with fairly smooth surfaces underneath all that saltiness. The crossguards fit the grip nicely, with minimal shrinkage.

The scabbard to this SA while showing as much age as the dagger itself, remains straight, and void of any hits, splits, bends, or dings. Though the “bluing” process is dull and oxidized, it still covers the shell pretty decently. Both upper and lower nickel fittings are in good shape, and have taken on the same greenish patina as the hilt fittings. 4 period dome head screws hold the hardware in place and tight to the shell.

The blade to this dagger in spite of displaying some surface spotting, is not all that bad. Considering the totally un-touched and uncleaned condition that this dagger exhibits. Even at that, this blade remains straight, full length, void of any sharpening, buffing, tipping, or cutting edge chips. A prominent fine line crossgrain is evident in the area not affected by spotting. While a beautiful dark acid etched Alles fur Deutschland motto contrasts the forged steel obverse. Finally, the wood chopper Siegfried logo known well to 3rd Reich edged weapon enthusiasts is shown etched on the reverse.

For the purest, an early Pack SA with the “look”.  SOLD
