Early Nickel Silver SA Dagger by Remeve – D832

With 200 some makers of the early SA daggers during the 3rd Reich era, the smaller cottage firms which produced some times 500 or less pieces, are highly sought after by blade enthusiasts. Here is one that rates an 8 on the scale, and pretty decent condition.

The grip on this SA is a beautiful medium brown, with shades of light and dark grain running throughout. The wood in in fantastic shape, void of any splits, chips, flakes, or missing material. So nice, that it void of even any pressure marks. Perfectly set straight and flush to the wood, is a nickel silver high neck eagle. The features of the bird remain as crisp as the day it was inlaid in this grip. At the top of the obverse the SA runes button is in good condition, with a layer of undisturbed patina over it’s surface. Both crossguards have turned a light gold in color, as nothing has been cleaned on this dagger since being returned as a souvenir from WWII.

A fine scabbard accompanies this Remeve SA. The shell remains straight, void of any hits, dings, bends, splits, or creases. The period anodized brown finish is excellent and still displays 85% of the original factory protective lacquer over it’s surface. As most collectors know, you just don’t see that with these shells. Especially an early example which was worn by it’s owner 85 years ago. Both upper and lower nickel fittings are tight to the shell, and held secure by 4 dome head period screws. Even the lower chape ball remains at 100% on this beautiful scabbard.

The blade to this rarer maker SA remains pretty decent. Though the surface shows some light age spots, this blade remains full length, and void of any sharpening, tipping, or cutting edge chips. An excellent lightly burnished Alles fur Deutschland motto is shown in the photos, etched perfectly straight down the obverse. On the reverse is the large logo of a firm not often encountered on these early Storm Trooper’s daggers; Remeve.

A nice dagger, manufactured by a lesser seen 3rd Reich edged weapon firm.   SOLD
