Early M36 SS Chain Dagger Type C – D1203
Where most of the so-called Type C’s were manufactured from 1938 and later using the less than quality metals available to the edged weapon firms, those produced in 1937 are the exceptions to the rule. The one in is offering is an absolute beauty! Though most of the description is depicted by the photos, here are a couple other facts.
The grip is perfect, void of any splits, chips, cracks or repairs. All the hilt components to include the emblems are of nickel construction. The lower reverse crossguard is Gruppe stamped. A typical characteristic of the edged weapon firms using up the last of the quality nickel components prior to resorting to plated fittings.
The scabbard is as nice as you will encounter with an M36 SS chain dagger! The shell retains 100% of the blue chemical oxide factory finish. If that isn’t enough, the shell also has 100% of the period protective lacquer too! The gorgeous Type C plated chain is the absolute best. Attached to the Wotan’s knot clip is the dog tag from the veteran who captured this exquisite war trophy.
As for the blade, it’s an absolute killer example!
Very few SS chain dagger fall into this quality of perfection. Here is a sweet example! $12,900.00
