Early Hitler Youth by Holler – D948

Having a hard time finding an HJ knife with the motto on the blade in decent condition these days? We are too for that matter! Here is a beautiful Transitional example in this offering that may be exactly what you have been looking for. The heavy nickel hilt to this youth knife is in good condition, exhibiting just some typical surface oxidation that is not all that detracting. An excellent set of checked grips are firmly riveted to the spine of this edged weapon, trimmed and fit with precision. A beautiful little grip diamond is in near perfect condition, void of any hits, chips, or enamel damage. And yes, there is a slight wiggle to it.

A great little scabbard accompanies this HJ. Its period original black painted shell finish is very strong, and rates at 95%. Showing basically just a little surface wear. The leather hanger is intact, with all areas securely riveted and a functioning snap button. The leather surface is a bit tired, but it is all there and intact.

And lastly the blade. It is full length, void of any unsightly chips, tipping or over excessive wear. On the obverse is a stunning factory burnished Blut und Ehre motto. Seldom are any of these kids knives ever encountered with such a dark etch as the one shown on obverse of this HJ. The surface is muted by the period crossgrain present, which you like to see on these little edged weapons. The same dark burnishing goes for the dual trademark of F.W. Holler Solingen on the reverse as well as the riccasso and the contract code RZM M7/33. This youth knife has a nice thick blade on it. That coupled with the solid nickel hilt makes this edged weapon 25% heavier than most others that we encounter by other manufactures. That was immediately noticeable the moment I picked this truly desirable HJ.  Finding an HJ with a motto is tough enough, finding one which looks like this baby, seldom encountered in today market.  SOLD
