Early Heer Officer’s Dagger by Puma – D928

When it comes to 3rd Reich daggers, there are always a ton of Heer officers out there for collectors to choose from. Here is a solid example for an introductory price for a slant grip.

A beautiful orange grip sets the hilt of this edged weapon off right from the start. The Trolon material is in excellent condition, being void of any chips, cracks, fractures or missing material and the sharp angular twist of the grip catches the eye. Both crossguard and pommel are dark with age, as nothing has been cleaned on this edged weapon since being returned as a souvenir from WWII. And speaking of the pommel, it is the 14 leaf pattern, indicative of this Heer dagger being produced during the initial period of when these edged weapon first made their appearance during early 1935.

Check out the dark patina on the scabbard, it’s as dark as they come. The scabbard itself has a slight depression 3” up from the tip, on the reverse side and some slight bowing but honestly nothing that affects the integrity of the shell that is not all that terrible. Two side screw holds the throat firmly in place.

We finish up with the blade. Though it does have some surface oxidation in places, it remains straight, full length, and void of any sharpening or cutting-edge chips. In addition, it still shows a nice crossgrain throughout the blade. On the reverse is a lightly stamped puma logo which 3rd Reich edged weapon collectors know so well.

A solid slant grip army dagger for the money.   SOLD
