Double Decal M35 Luft by SE – H183

This listing is for a beautiful Model 35 Luft which was manufactured by the Sachsische Emailler helmet supplier. The exterior paint as shown in the photos displays an excellent blue – gray finish in it’s entirety. On the left side of the helmet the eagle in flight decal has been applied uniform, straight, and symmetrical. And rates strong at ~ 98%. On the other side the national has been touched up at some time. It certainly doesn’t look to be recent, as there is quite a bit of age and darkening over the surface. And actually could have been done war time, though there is no way to truly know with certainty. That aside takes nothing away from this lid, as it is being sold at the price of what a single decal would ordinarily be in this truly beautiful condition. On the inside the skirt is stamped with the maker’s initials: SE64, with a lot number of #4272. The liner system consists of a double reinforced aluminum band which remains in the uniform correct shape, void of any breaks or crease. All 3 fastening rivets remain straight and complete with their corresponding washers intact. The 8 finger leather though a little dry over the years, is in decent shape overall. The proper drawstring hold the ends neatly together. Finally, completing the interior is a full length chinstrap with proper aluminum buckle. What does a nice chinstrap like this alone run you when you need one, $250.00 or more? A nice early Luft without a doubt.   SOLD
