Desirable NSKK Dagger by Christianswerk – D1191

Rarely do collectors encounter early NSKK’s equip with blued scabbards. Here is a beauty in this listing!

The handle to this Christianswerk’s NSKK is a thick chunk of dark brown wood, that remains in fine condition. Other than the typical light pressure marks, it remains devoid of any cracks, splits, flakes, fractures, or repairs. The nickel silver eagle and SA runic have been expertly set flush and straight to obverse, as well as retaining excellent features to both emblems. Both upper and lower crossguard nicely fit the grip, and are shown with a subtle undisturbed patina over their surfaces.

As mentioned earlier in this description, the scabbard to this beautiful NSKK is the blued variety, exactly as collectors encounter on early M33 SS daggers. I’ve only had a couple of these over the years, as they are quite rare to say the least. The shell remains straight, void of any splits, bends or creases, with a couple minor surface dings. The original factory chemical blue oxide finish is very strong as shown in the photos, and rates at 95%. Both upper and lower nickel fittings are in place and held secure with 4 dome head screws. It’s interesting to note that a property stamp with the number #39 has been struck in the upper surface of the top fitting, whereas that same exact number is shown applied to the reverse of the lower chape. 

A beautiful blade rounds out this fine looking early NSKK dagger. It remains straight, full length, devoid of any sharpening, tipping, buffing, cleaning, or cutting-edge chips. There is one small section on the reverse side which shows some minor surface oxidation. That aside is overshadowed by a wonderful crossgrain running both obverse as well as reverse, from hilt to tip. And if that isn’t enough for you, take a look at the killer Alles fur Deutschland motto! That collectors, truly says it all!
